Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to everyone! It feels a bit like the North Pole in Craughwell at the moment. Santa will feel very much at home tonight as he races around Craughwell.
The athletes in the juvenile club are on a well-earned rest for the week.
The U10 to U14 age groups (whoever's around!) will be going down to Nenagh on Tuesday 29th for a bit of a party and a training session. For some, this will be their first time on the indoor track in Nenagh and for others it will be a chance to get used to the indoors again before the competitions in January and February. This is our 4th year going down to Nenagh at Christmas and its always been a good day with a relaxed competition with the Nenagh athletes followed by a bit of a party.
The U14 and older ages are going down to Nenagh on Monday Jan 4th for a training session and again thats an opportunity to get a bit of practise indoors in preparation for the competitive season. The club will be paying for a bus on both days.
So enjoy the break and put in a big effort in the New Year to improve your PBs in the indoors. Remember its only yourself that can make these improvements – if you put in the effort, you reap the rewards!
And a quick word to the 70 or 80 senior runners who are making the short trip to Athenry (including myself!), take it easy on the chocolates and wine on Christmas Day or you might see them again on the streets of Athenry on Stephens Day!
Merry Christmas!
