It was another good weekend for a number of Craughwell AC athletes who were in action at the National Conbined Events Championships in Tullamore.
In the U17 girls’ age group, Maria McNamara added to the National Indoor Pentathlon title which she won earlier in the year by storming to victory in the heptathlon – winning the javelin and shot putt with throws of 22.44 and 8.33, winning the high jump with an impressive leap of 1.53m, second in the long jump with 4.60m and 800m with 2.45.52, third in the 200m with 28.93 and fourth in the 100m hurdles with 18.38.
