The first round of the indoor national track and field league was held in Athlone IT on Saturday 16th January. After the success of the team last year, the Craughwell senior club entered a ladies team in the competition again this year.

The team performed very well to achieve a score of 46 points and this leaves the team in second place overall heading into the second round on 30 January. Competing on the day for the team was Sarah Finnegan (60m hurdles), Sinead Gaffney (800m), Cathriona Farrell (long jump), Sinead Treacy (60m) and Melissa Mullins (shot putt).

The team would be hoping to put in another strong performance in the second round in order to reach the final on 6 February.
