Results of Craughwell Community Games 2018

After a miserable wet morning yesterday morning, some marvellous May sunshine lay in store for the 2018 Craughwell Community Games which were held yesterday evening at Craughwell AC’s athletics grounds. It was a lovely community day with a nice attendance and almost 100 participants in the different events. Even the local bovine community got in on the act and were enthralled by the races!

U8s line up for their sprint under the watchful gaze of the neighbours!

Results of the evening are attached:- CraughwellCommunityGames2018Results.pdf

A big thank you to everyone who helped out – the evening ran off like clockwise thanks to the large number of people who helped out. And a special mention to Daniel O’Brien who went out of his way to come down and take photographs of the evening which people can download for free from his Facebook page and website. Its super to have photographs of that quality of the event and hopefully people will consider Daniel as their photographer for their special family occasions as he has done alot of free stuff for the club in the past year.

We need to confirm with parents asap who is going to the Galway finals which will be held on Sunday 3rd June in Ballinderrin. The first and second place in each event from U8 upwards can go forwards – but can only do 1 individual event in the Galway finals, in which case the next in line gets a choice of going to the Galway finals.

And we also hope to field relay teams in the following ages:-

  • U10 mixed relay (top 2 girls top 2 boys plus 3rd place subs)
  • U12 girls relay (top 4 girls plus 4/5th place subs)
  • U12 boys relay (top 4 boys plus 4/5th place subs)
  • U14 girls relay
  • U14 boys relay
  • U15 mixed relay
  • U16 boys relay
