Resumption of Juvenile Training
![]() |
Welcome back everyone and hope you enjoyed the summer holidays! Whether you are preparing for the indoor athletics season or running the cross country season or just starting into the sport, Craughwell astroturf is the place to be from next week onwards. If you're already a member, you're familar with the scene. If you haven't done it in a while, get back into training now … its a great time to start again as school commences. And if you're new to the sport, you've come to the right place – joining one of Connachts most progressive, most ambitious and most inclusive clubs. Juvenile training restarts in the next 2 weeks for all age groups at the astroturf unless otherwise indicated. As numbers are expected to be quite large, further adjustments may be needed to these training times to ensure the smooth operation of training sessions. We're also seeking more parents to get involved in helping at training sessions, particularly in the U12/13/14 session at 7.30 and in younger sessions. So if you are available to help out, please let us know – you will get plenty of assistance from other coaches in the early days and quickly become an expert! U15s and older (i.e. born 1996 and earlier) commencing Tues 31 August: – Tuesdays 8.15pm [note the earlier start time Tues + Thurs] U12s, U13s and U14s (i.e. born 1997, 1998, 1999) commencing Tues 7th Sept – Tuesdays 7.30pm U11s (i.e. born 2000) commencing on Tues 31st Aug – Tuesdays 7pm U10s (i.e. born 2001) commencing on Thurs 2nd Sept – Tuesdays 6.15pm U9s (i.e. born 2002) commencing on Tues 7th Sept – Tuesdays 6.30pm U8s (i.e. born 2003 or in first class) commencing on Thurs 9th Sept – Thursdays 6pm The club is combining the resumption of athletics with a 'clean out your unwanted clothes' fundraiser that is hoped will raise over €2000 for facilities for the club. The scheme is called cash4clobber. Check out earlier article on the website for more details. After we launched this effort, we discovered that the Craughwell Community Development Association had planned a similar fundraiser for a new playground – so hopefully families using both facilities can contribute to both efforts! http://www.craughwellac.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=685&Itemid=78
