Senior Circuit Training
If you are interested in getting fit or in complementing your training with some strength/toning work for overall body strength, then circuit training could be for you.
Read on for information on the current series of circuits been conducted by Craughwell AC
Senior circuit training will recommence on Mondays and Fridays for 8 weeks, commencing on Monday 10th April at 9.30pm.
For members of the Athletic Club, the cost is for the 8 weeks is
- €25 if doing 1 night per week, or
- €50 if doing 2 nights per week
If you are not a member of the Athletic Club, you must first join – get the membership form on www.craughwellac.com. It costs €15 to join the club. Also, if this is your first time doing circuit training with Craughwell AC, you must fill out an additional form.
The following is an outline of the training sessions: –
9:30pm | Arriving/prepare hall. |
9:30-9:40 | Warm-up/jog/light stretching. |
9:40-9:50 | Circuit 1 |
9:50-10:00 | Circuit 2 |
10:00-10:10 | Circuit 3 |
10:10-10:30 | Flexibility/toning stretches |
10.35 | Finished |
Each circuit will comprise 12 to 14 activities structured as follows:
- 30 to 50 seconds per activity
- Whistle sounds to start/stop each activity
- Recovery time can be taken as part of next 30/50 seconds activity
- 12/14 stations, 1 for each activity
- Maximum 4 people per station
The activities will be spread evenly across 4 categories of exercises – aerobic/total body, upper body, mid-rift and lower body. Participants can adjust the intensity at which they perform each activity to suit their own level of fitness.
You will need to bring runners, tracksuit or shorts, a bottle of water and a towel. If you are attending one night only, it is envisaged that you could attend on either Monday or Friday – but please indicate your general preference so that we don’t end up with too many on a particular night.
