Sineád Treacy Claims First International Vest!
Sineád Treacy had a fantastic performance in the Intermediate Girls grade at the Irish Schools multi-events finals which were held in Athlone at the weekend. Competing a year out of her age, Sineád was representing her school St Raphael’s Loughrea and scored a total of 2913 points across the 5 events.
She had impressive PBs in 3 events with 9.79 in the hurdles, 2.29.31 in the 800m and 6.82m in the shot putt together with an indoor PB of 5.23m in the long jump and equalling her recent PB of 1.40m in the high jump. Relatively new to multi-events, this was a super performance by Sinead and just reward for a hard-working athlete. Sineád will now represent Ireland on the Irish Schools Pentathlon team which will compete in Glasgow in December against the best athletes from England, Scotland and Wales.
