South Connacht Junior Girls High Jump and Long Jump Champion 2018

Well done to the many Craughwell Ac athletes who competed today while representing their schools in the South Connacht Schools Track & Field in Dangan. I will update this article with results as they come to hand. If reading this, please send on any omissions and I will update.

Ava Finn (Pres Athenry) had a great day in the Junior Girls age group with triple gold in the high jump (1.40), long jump (4.62) and 4x100m relay. As did Jade Moorhead (Pres Athenry) who battled it out in a high quality Minor Girls high jump competition with Saoirse Moore with both girls jumping outdoor PBs of 1.53 and Jade taking the victory on countback with Saoirse 2nd. Jade added a silver in the long jump with a PB of 4.32m. Lauren McNally (St Brigids) took second place in the Junior Girls high jump (1.35) with Sophie O’Brien (Coláiste Bhaile Chláir) taking third place with a leap of 1.30 and also placed highly in the long jump. Emma Jane Moran (Pres Athenry) also qualified for the Connacht finals with a 4th place finish in the Junior Girls 200m and as part of the victorious Pres Athenry Junior Girls relay team. Carla Noone (St Raphaels) won her heat of the Minor Girls 800m to also qualify for the Connacht finals.

In the boys events, Lukas Schukat repeated his impressive CBP from Sunday with another 1.60m leap to take the victory in the Minor Boys high jump.
