Super Weekend for Craughwell Ac! (updated with club results)
Saturday saw the running of the Woodies DIY combined events in Nenagh.
Some of our seniors were in action. Diarmuid Quill and William Finnegan took the Bronze Medal in the High Jump with a fantastic return to high jump form by Diarmuid.
William jumped a very impressive 1m: 75 this added to Diarmuids 1m: 50 proved a winning combination. (I could be corrected on exact results)
Congratulations to both on returning home with National medals.
William also took a silver medal in the combined events
Diarmuid added a 10k PB in Athenry to cap a brilliant weekend for him.
Also in action in Nenagh, Rachel Finnegan provided a cliffhanger finish in the 800m to take National Gold. Many Congratulations to Sarah and well done on getting a mention on the AAI website too J!

Sunday saw us all out in force in Athenry.
To the best of my calculations we had 53 Craughwell AC singlets on show in the delayed running of the 2009 Fields of Athenry on Sunday afternoon. With almost 35 coming up through our fit4life we are extremely proud of all their performances, with so many its difficult to highlight any one but there were 3 who had never actually run 10k before the race. Many congratulations to Caroline, Mary & Bernie! Hopefully you’re as happy with your achievement as we in Fit4Life are.Congratulations also to those who took individual honours on the day Pat, Val, Dervilla & Kathleen and to our senior men with a very impressive 2nd placing in the team event well done to Peter, Johnny, Mark & Tom.
All in all it was a fine weekend for the club!
