The club would like to wish Stephen Glennon the very best of luck as he moves on from the Connacht Tribune after 17 years of excellent sports coverage. His weekly articles were a must-read for any lover of sport and the club are very grateful for his focus on many of our own athletes over the years including Cathriona Farrell when she was battling Europe’s best in the high jump and more recently our U20 European Womens team and Shauna Bocquet.
The club also wish to particularly acknowledge the fantastic coverage that Stephen gave to our athletes in the Craughwell notes section every week of the year. It was the envy of many a club around the county, with sometimes 2 pages of coverage adorned with photos of our athletes.
It is not an understatement to say that Stephen’s coverage helped the club get to the levels that it is at today with huge numbers of athletes in the club because the club’s achievements are well known the length and breadth of the county and indeed the whole island.
The very best of luck Stephen and hopefully our paths will cross again during the rest of your career.
