William Shines in International Debut

In November William Fitzgeral completely turned around an injury plagued year with an outstanding top-30 finish in the National Cross Country to secure an automatic qualifier spot for his first ever international in Hannut, Belgium as part of the Irish U23 team for the famous Crosscup De Hannuit.

William had an absolute STORMER to finish in 32nd of the 97 strong field in baltic conditions. William was 2nd scorer on his u23 team and beat several top class athletes along the way, including double-eurocross medallist Jamie Battle and National Novices Champion Paul Harnett.

Willliam had more things on his mind than taking pictures so I trawled the internet and managed to find a short clip that I review briefly below.

Incredible running from William and it has to rank right up there with the greatest ever Cross Country runs by a Craughwell AC Athlete – probably the finest.
